We hold a Quiz night on alternate Mondays. On Tuesdays our Darts Team - which is in the local league - holds its practice sessions and home matches during the season. We hold monthly events such as Sausage Sunday, Pub & Board Games Night, and Ukulele Night where you can play or sing along with the Chippenham Ukuleles group; and Cheese Club, a popular gathering where people bring cheeses to share. We offer regular live music and other events such as vinyl nights (bring your favourite record!), which all underpin our ethos as a community pub.
Watch out for our unique Pop-Up events. These usually monthly and have included a Mexican Restaurant, a French Restaurant – both of which offered delicious and authentic three course menus. Future pop-ups will offer South African, Spanish and Japanese cuisines.
We regularly raise money for charities, including The Alzheimer's Society, Butterfly Giving (fighting teenage cancer), and The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, amongst local groups. Our biggest fund raiser to date was Movember - a charity helping to fight against prostate and testicular cancer. We raised around £4,000 over 3 years. We have held two cake bake-offs raising money for Help for Heroes and for Cancer Research. Charity Leg Waxing events raised over £500 for Combat Stress. In December, 2017, the Ukuleles Christmas session raised £185 for local homeless charity Doorway through a request jukebox.
An informal group (not run by the pub) of bikers occasionally meets up outside the Three Crowns for a safe and sociable group ride out.
There are 4 ale and cider festivals each year, 2 gin festivals, and we hold special ale and cider evenings. Please see the Diary and Festivals menus for more information.
