Food normally on offer is limited to good, old-fashioned pub snacks, filled rolls, with award-winning Walter Rose Pork Pies at the weekends.
Once a month we hold events such as 'Sausage Sunday', with locally produced sausages and fresh rolls, and 'Cheese Club'.
More substantial hot and cold snacks are often available at beer festivals, and may include pies, pasties and occasionally locally-made authentic burritos. Cheese Club is an opportunity for anyone to turn up with some good cheese and to share it with, and get to know, others. We provide plates, cutlery and biscuits.
We hold regular 'pop up' events that include locally-cooked, authentic food which brings types of cuisine not currently available in Chippenham. Generally offered as a fixed-price three course menu, recent pop ups have offered Mexican and French cuisine.
Late in 2017 we held a second Mexican night and our first South African pop up. For further events, keep on eye on our diary page for dates and details of how to book. We also operate a BYO scheme, where patrons can bring and eat your take-away meal in The Back Bar (cutlery & crockery are available). There are a number of good take away restaurants near to the pub, offering Indian, Afro-Caribbean, Thai, and Chinese cuisine, as well as fish and chips.
